The Memorandum regarding cooperation concluded by Orlen and the Naftogaz Group is to allow Ukraine to increase the diversification of supply sources not only with gas, but also by oil, and also allow access to alternative fuels – Orlen said in a press release.

The signing of the Memorandum regarding cooperation in mining projects, the development of the Downstream segment and strengthening of cross-border and commercial relationships took place during the conference of the oil and gas industry Newfolk Oil & Gas in Lviv.

“The signed agreement is another proof of the effective implementation of our strategy. Orlen becomes the key to the energy security not only of Poland, but also the entire region. After the start of the American LNG deliveries for our Ukrainian partner, it was time to deepen our cooperation,” he said, the president of Orlen Ireneusz Fąfara.

As part of the signed agreement, the Company will strive to increase natural gas supply by Poland to Ukraine as well as the development and support of projects in the field of oil and gas extraction.

“These projects will strengthen the raw material of our partners and allow for flexibility. Naftogaz may also benefit from the experience of ORLEN in the modernization of oil refinery in Krzemieńczuk and modernization of gas assets, destroyed during the war. The parties will also strive to prepare joint investment projects, both in the field of fuel sales, as well as the development of the biofuel segment”

The signed memorandum is the second cooperation agreement between companies. As part of the first, Orlen concluded with Naftogaz three contracts for LNG deliveries to Ukraine with a total volume of 300 million cubic meters. gas.

The Orlen Group sells petroleum products to Ukrainian recipients, including gasoline, diesel and asphalt. In addition, he provides service services for companies from the Upstream industry.

The Naftogaz Group is the largest State Przedsiębiorstwo Naftowo-Gazowych Sector in Ukraine, covering the entire chain of activity-from searching and extraction, through transport and storage, to the sale of gas and oil. (PAP Biznes)
