On Monday after 8.30 the National Electoral Commission publicly announced the election of Karol Nawrocki as president of the Republic of Poland. He was supported by 50.89 percent voters (10 million 606 thousand 877 votes) and Ko Rafał Trzaskowski's candidate – 49.11 percent (10 million 237 thousand 286 votes).

Nawrocki thanked the voters for every voice cast for him. “Behind us is hard and sometimes a brutal election campaign. Your voices made me elected to the office of the President of the Republic of Poland. This is a great responsibility and commitment. I accept this decision with humility and respect,” wrote President Elek on Monday evening on Platform X.

He emphasized that every day of the campaign he felt support from Poles – also abroad. “I felt that you were with me, despite many manipulations and a wave of hate that he spilled on me and my family,” he said.

“Thank you for every voice cast for me, for every good word and gesture. For all supports in this extremely difficult battle for Poland. We won together for the good of our beloved homeland,” he added.

According to Nawrocki, Poles want to live in a safe, economically strong country that cares about the weakest, as well as about their tradition and history. He assured that as a president he would give his best to meet expectations. “You can be sure that as the head of state I will not give up any of the matters important to Poland and Poles. I will represent the state in international arena, guarding the subjective treatment of Poland,” he said.

“Once again, I thank you all for your trust, which I will not let you down. Thank you in a special way to my loved ones: wife Marta, daughter Kasia and sons Daniel and Antek for the fact that they bravely accompanied me in this long and hard journey. Long live Poland!” – he wrote.
