Also, the relevant minister mentioned that there are also plans for the restoration of the tourist area, estimating an additional cost of about 70 million lei for Salina Praid to become one of the “most beautiful tourist attractions in Europe”.

“Now we are working on preparing an evaluation on everything that means reorganization and refurbishment of the praid saline for the access of tourists and we intend to be one of the most beautiful tourist attractions of Europe. Asked if Salina could be saved, Bogdan Ivan said the chances are good, according to the discussions with the specialists. “I am not a specialist in this subject, but I trust that with Mr. Dobrea and the experts who will come on June 3, we will be able to have a clear evaluation and we will be able to say when Salina Praid can be recovered,” he said.

He also spoke about the economic impact of the closing of the saline on the locality and said that, through the support mechanism thought by the Government, the workers will be paid, and the pensions and hotels that have undergone losses will be granted.

“We are with them and we are interested in finding the solution by which we will reopen this mine and make it more beautiful than it was before,” said Bogdan Ivan.
