Industry Days are an annual and flagship event organized by the European Commission. He is one of the key events of the Polish presidency in the Council of the European Union, it will take place on June 5 and 6. President Konrad Fijołek believes that this is particularly important for Rzeszów.

“In this way, our region and city were appreciated by the Polish government and the EU. It was noted that this is here the industrial basin,” he said. “This is a great opportunity for us to take another step forward. One of the most important areas will be technologies related to space and drones,” added the president. And he announced that it was during the Industry Days that an agreement would be signed regarding the creation of a drone technology center.

“A very wide program, from reinforcing aspects to civilian, also associated with research works as well as areas and test spaces. We hope that this will be the first step to embedding, this extremely important technological and industrial driving engine of Podkarpacie for the next decades, and maybe even generations” – emphasized Fijołek.

The center is to be built in Rzeszów or in the neighboring Tyczyn, the signatories of the agreement are also to be representatives of Podkarpackie universities, the Air Valley and entrepreneurs who deal with drone technologies.

President Fijołek announced this on Friday, on the last day of the campaign before Sunday's second round of presidential elections. So he appealed to the residents to take part in the vote, and secondly they put the candidate of Ko Rafał Trzaskowski. “That we can go forward, we need support in the Presidential Palace,” he said.

This was also supported by the Podkarpackie Voivode Teresa Kubas-Hul. “On June 1, let's focus on Rafał Trzaskowski. It is a guarantee that a special program for Podkarpacie will be created, because what we have declared so far, what did not require a change in laws, we are consistently implementing,” she said, adding that last year Podkarpacie received an additional PLN 1 billion from the state budget.

MP Paweł Kowal also addressed the voters, including supporters supported by PiS Karol Nawrocki. “There is no candidate who may fit one hundred percent. But you can choose better or worse. And then you can't unscrew it. So there is no shame,” he said. (PAP)
