The right -wing extremist Grzegorz Braun, eliminated in the first round of the presidential elections in Poland, announced on Thursday that the second round will vote with the Conservative Karol Nawrocki, DPA reports.

Braun, 58 years old, is a notorious anti -Semitic; He caused indignation in 2023, when he extinguished a Menora – Jewish ritual chandelier – lit by Hanuka in the Warsaw Parliament.

He recognized that his option will not change much for voters, who do not need his recommendations; He obtained only 6.3% of the votes on May 18, ranking on the 4th place. Another far -right candidate, Slawomir Mentzen, was the third by 15% and abstained on Wednesday, from any exhortation to his supporters.

Together, their electorate could prove decisive in the second round, in which the pro-European Vafal Trzaskowski, mayor of Warsaw and political ally Donald Tusk, and Nawrocki, representative of the Law and Justice Party (PIS) from the nationalist opposition will face Sunday.

Surveys show a very small advance for Trzaskowski. The data of an opinion poll published by the Onet's news portal shows that Rafał Trzaskowski, the current mayor of Warsaw supported by the pro-European parties, would have voted by 47.7% of the voters, while the PIS (Law and Justice Party), Karol Nawrocki, enjoys a 46% support. The first was recently supported at a rally by President Nicușor Dan, while Nawrocki was also supported by another meeting by George Simion.

The IBRIS study commanded by Onet was conducted between 26-28 May 2025, using the telephone method of standardized interviews with computer-assisted questionnaires (CATI) on a research sample of 1,090 adult Poles. The margin of error is +-3%.

Basically the difference between candidates is only 1.7 percentage points.

At the same time, 6.3% of the respondents answered I do not know.
