Ana Maria Barbosu and Nicholas Ţarcă had to represent Romania in the final

The rules of this contest are simple: Gymnast and gymnast in each country with the highest soil notes, parallels and fixed (male), respectively jumping, beam and soil (female) are chosen to represent the team in the final.

The two compete in the final of the mixed contest and, based on the total score obtained at the 6 samples, the final ranking is made.

Following team competitions, the two gymnasts who should have represented Romania were Ana Maria Barbosu and Nicholas Ţarcă. The tricolors qualified in this final from the 15th position, but the athletes, coaches and the management of the federation made the decision not to participate.

“The team leader, Ana Bărbosu, will compete tomorrow for a European medal in the final of the individual compound, a competition in which it has qualified with the second score,” the Romanian Gymnastics Federation said. Most likely, the decision was taken in the context in which Ana Bărbosu will compete tomorrow with good chances at the medal in the final of the individual compound test.

The place of Romania will be taken by Austria, which will take place with Italy, the United Kingdom, France, Hungary, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Finland, Israel, Norway, Turkey, Belgium and Poland.
