In Krasnoyarsk, a building will be restored, which housed the editorial office and printing house of the newspaper Krasnoyarsk Worker, the Service for the State Protection of Cultural Heritage of the Krasnoyarsk Territory said.
We are talking about a building on Mira Avenue, 55 – an object of cultural heritage of regional significance “Printing house of Kokhanovskaya. Modern “. It was built in 1910 according to the project of the provincial architect Vladimir Sokolovsky.
A residential building with a printing house was built by order of the spouses of Kokhanovsky – publishers and co -appropriations of many Krasnoyarsk newspapers. They helped to publish “Siberian thought”, “Krasnoyarsk chronicle”, “Yenisei thought”, “Krasnoyar”, “the voice of the people” and others. In 1918, Krasnoyarsk banknotes were printed in the printing house, and since 1924 the building became a printing house and editors of the newspaper Krasnoyarsk Worker and Book Publishing House.
Currently, the building has the Krasnoyarsk Research Institute of Geology and Mineral Raw Materials and the Museum of Geology of Central Siberia.
The building is built in modern forms. The main facade, facing the main street, is richly decorated with a decor with plant patterns and volumetric masks, and also has two balconies with forged lattices.
Recently, the building is in poor condition – the plaster is destroyed, it is dangerous to pass under the balconies.
The state protection of cultural heritage facilities reported that the building was waiting for restoration. A state contract has already been concluded for the development of scientific and project documentation. It should be ready by the end of December 2025.
