The interim chief of the United States Embassy in Bucharest was on Tuesday at the Parliament Palace where Ilie Bolojan met, who resumed the position of president of the Senate and is the most named name for the position of prime minister in the future government.

After leaving Bolojan's office in Parliament, Michael Dickerson, in charge of business at the US Embassy in Romania, said it was a “routine meeting”.

Asked by a journalist if the United States will withdraw troops from Romania, Dickerson replied while leaving: “No, I have no information (in this regard).”

Questioned and what he thinks about the new president Nicușor Dan or about the relationship (US) with him, he did not offer any answer.

Michael Dickerson, a career diplomat who has worked in missions in Baku, Tbilisi, Vilnius, Budapest and Moscow, took over the US Embassy after the official withdrawal of Ambassador Kathleen Kavalec until the position is taken over by the Republican Darryl Nirenberg, nominated by Donald Trump.

Full day for Ilie Bolojan

Ilie Bolojan had a full day on Tuesday, the first day after returning from the Senate after teaching the mandate of the state of the new president, Nicușor Dan.

He met with Dominic Fritz, the USR interim president, to discuss reforms and the future government, given that the USR wants Bolojan for the position of prime minister.

He also had a discussion with the PNL Secretary General, Adrian Veștea, who then said that all pro -European parties must be in the executive, and those of “good faith” must have “flexibility” and “openness” for a common government program.

Bolojan also met with the head of the Fiscal Council, Daniel Dăianu, who said he did not believe in the cut of 30 billion lei, until the end of the year, as President Nicuşor Dan said.
