Mikhail Kavelashvili became the new president of Georgia.
Salome Zubarashvili left the post and the presidential palace this morning. Earlier, local officials were afraid that she would resist and from her residence would have to be expelled by force.
On Tuesday, the ex-president threatened to “overthrow the regime” if the ruling “Georgian Dream” does not agree with the opposition about the new parliamentary elections.
The Prime Minister of Georgia after that stated that if Salome appoints new elections or refuses to leave his office and position, it will be brought to criminal liability.
