Bulgaria hoteliers estimate a moderate increase in prices during the summer vacation, between 10% and 15% compared to last year, following the increase of inflation and high costs, informs Novinite. Despite these evolutions, the tourism industry is confident that the future transition to Euro in 2026 will not cause sudden increases in prices for visitors, it is shown in an analysis of the Nova TV, Agerpres reports.

Even though this summer is still the official currency of Bulgaria, tourism companies have already started preparations for the adoption of the euro. Many transactions with foreign partners have been carried out for some time in euros, and consumers in Bulgaria are used to the single currency during their travels. “Bulgarians traveling to Europe use the euro, so that the change of currency will not adversely affect tourists,” said Pavlin Kosev, president of the Association of Restaurants and Hotels in Varna.

In the resort of the Golden Sands, the hoteliers expect a smooth transition, the prices being simply converted to euros at a fixed exchange rate. “The prices do not change, they will only be denominated in euros, which will simplify the situation for foreign visitors and reduce the risk of foreign fraud,” said Stanislav Stoianov, vice -president of the Golden Sands Union.

Regarding the 2025 season, prices would start from 70 levs per night at two or three-star hotels, reaching up to 1,000 LEVA per night at luxury all-inclusive packages at five-star hotels. On average, prices for a double room on the northern and south coasts of the Black Sea would fall between 150 and 300 Leva, depending on the location and the hotel category.

Also, the travel agencies do not expect major price increases after the adoption of the euro. “The contracts with the partners are signed in advance and the price is already set in the euro. Any increases will be controlled by the conditions on the market,” said Evelina Puleva, tour-operator.

This summer season, an important change will be the extension of the activity of the lifeguards until September 15, and their program will be between 9:00 and 6:30 pm.

For tourists looking for low budget holidays, the hoteliers recommend avoiding the busy period in July and August, recommending June, September and even October, when prices can be up to 50% lower.
