Deputy Anamaria Gavrilă, the president, proposed the organization of early elections “in the context of the public pressures launched by some so-called civic initiatives”, a statement sent by the party led by the parliamentary.

The announcement comes in the context in which a petition has appeared on the Declic platform requesting “the resignation of Anamaria Gavrilă from all public functions”. At the time of writing the news, the initiative has over 38,000 signatures. At the same time, I can face a wave of departures, and his group from the Senate will be dissolved.

“The system tries to get rid of me and I can from Parliament because we represent a real, brave opposition, which does not shut up when others prefer to obey for personal interests. The vote of Romanians has shown that the system is less and more. They are not able to talk to a leader. They prefer to buy parliamentarians. Vote by Romanians, and that vote offers us the democratic legitimacy of the functions we hold, “said Anamaria Gavrilă.

She claims that “the system does not like the opposition.”

“Try to get rid of Pot and Anamaria Gavrilă. I propose early elections. Do you have courage or scare you democracy? Can I represent the voice of Romanians who sent us to Parliament.” Despite the attacks, Anamaria Gavrilă emphasizes that she remains open to collaboration in the interest of Romanians: “The young people's party has shown that she knows how to build.

The triggering of the early elections is regulated by Article 89 of the Constitution, which establishes that, after consultations with the presidents of the two Houses and with the leaders of the parliamentary groups, the President of Romania can dissolve the Parliament “if he did not give the vote for the Government formation within 60 days from the first request and only after the rejection of at least two requests”.

However, Nicușor Dan has stated from the election campaign that he does not want early elections and that he is going to work with the current Parliament until the general elections of 2028.

Can remain without a group to the Senate because of the wave of departures

Pus, or the party of young people, entered the premiere in the Romanian Parliament in the elections of December 1, 2024. The formation obtained 24 deputy mandates and seven senator at last year's poll, but this week remained with only 14 deputies. Thus, the group from the Senate will be dissolved.

“We have submitted (…) the resignations of the Party of young people and implicitly in the parliamentary group (…). Care, hysteria, positions and statements are exactly what disgusts and disappoints the conservative, sovereign electorate-an electorate formed, mainly, from decent people, faithful and workers, who do not want to be a state, Corrupted ”, it is shown in a letter signed by six of the deputies who left the formation, a letter obtained by Hotnews. These are Dumitrița Albu, Lucian Andruşcă, Andrei Csillag, Călin Groza, Gheorghe Pîclişan and Aurora Simu.

Commenting on Wednesday the series of departures from the party, Anamaria Gavrilă said about the parliamentarians who left can be looked at as the “wasteful sons”.

“It is also human nature if you have entered the Parliament to have the impression that it is your chance and maximize it. When I entered the Parliament I saw it as a long-term mission,” said the president.
