Work is underway on the introduction of a uniform model of the mortgage agreement and UOKiK hopes that the regulations in this respect will enter into force in 2026 – PAP Biznes informed the President of UOKiK Tomasz Chróstny.

“Work on this regulation is ongoing. If there is a conviction of the government to this regulation, we will be ready with the legislative path so that it is binding next year. I believe that this term is still as current as possible,” Biznes Chróstny told PAP in the lobby of the Piu Congress in Sopot.
He informed that there is a discussion, which was somewhat initiated by the so -called Deregulation syndrome, on what formula the mortgage agreement should be adopted.
“Whether it will be a statutory solution or as a form of a certain market standard. Only the form of accepting the statutory pattern guarantees the inability to control before the court (…), undermining it in the future,” said Chróstny.
According to earlier information, UOKiK plans to introduce a uniform model mortgage contract. The purpose of this regulation is to increase the transparency and transparency of mortgage loans, make it easier to compare offers and protect consumers.
