Simone Inzaghi (49 years old), the current coach of Inter Milan is close to the separation of the Italian band one day after the Champions League final, which they will dispute against PSG (May 31, at 22:00).
The coach who revitalized the team from Milan and has brought the club remarkable results in recent years, is in the center of a possible spectacular transfer in world football.
Simone Inzaghi, desired by al-Hilal
The Saudi club Al-Hilal, one of the most powerful in Asia, made the Italian technician an offer considered by Gazzetta dello Sport as a “monstrous”: over 20 million euros per season, an amount that would turn it into one of the best paid coaches in the world.
Al-Hilal, the club that has recently set the world record of 34 consecutive victories and has top players like Milinkovic-Savic, Koulibaly and Mitrovic, Ruben Neves and Joao Cancelo, was left without a coach from Jorge Jesus. The club's ambitions are huge, especially in the context of participating in the extensive edition of the World Cup of Clubs this summer, and the management wants to give an image shot by bringing an European European experience.
The president of the club, Fahad Bin Saad Bin Nafa, personally moved to Milan in April to negotiate with Inzaghi, and the discussions seemed to be promising. According to the Arab press, Inzaghi would have agreed to go to RIAD on June 1, immediately after the Champions League final, to sign the contract with Al-Hilal, notes Gazzetta Dello Sport.
Inzaghi's family would plan a trip to Riyadh in the coming days, while a coach's emissary is already there for discussions.
Inter, between uncertainty and hope
Simone Inzaghi also has a contract with Inter until the summer of 2026, and recently discussed a possible extension until 2027. However, the financial offer from Saudi Arabia is difficult to refuse, and his future in Milan becomes uncertain, especially in the context in which Inter is at a key moment of the season, between the fierce struggle to the title of the series and the dream of the series Champions League.
For Al-Hilal, bringing Inzaghi would be not only a brand transfer, but also a strategy to strengthen the image of Saudi Arabia worldwide, in the context of massive investments made in recent years in infrastructure and to bring big names from European football.
Although there is no official confirmation from Inzaghi or Inter Club yet, all clubs suggest that the Italian coach is very close to a historical move to Saudi Arabia. The final decision could be taken immediately after the Champions League final, and European football could lose one of the most appreciated coaches of the moment in favor of an ambitious and extremely financially generous project.
