A man introduced 3,000 euros in an ATM, hoping to change them in lower value banknotes, but the amount was detained by the device on the spot, according to Libertatea.ro.
The unusual incident took place at a Vienna ATM and left the customer without access to money for several weeks.

Lotary V., a resident of the Austrian capital, went through a tense experience even during the Easter holidays.
With the intention of changing 3,000 euros in smaller banknotes, the lottery used a ATM in a bank branch. However, instead of receiving the desired banknotes, the device blocked the money and displayed an unexpected message.
“In the message I wrote that my money is” stored “in the ATM and that I have to contact the staff. They sent me home all weekend; no one had access to the ATM,” the man told the local press.
The incident took place on Friday, but the clarifications were delayed. The situation was solved only in May, after weeks of uncertainty, in which no one wanted to take responsibility for the problem.

Contacted by an Austrian newspaper, the representatives of the bank explained the delay through “a series of unhappy circumstances”.
“We have high standards of services for customers. Unfortunately, we could not respect them in this case,” the officials of the financial institution said.
Finally, the lottery has recovered its money, but the experience left a bitter taste and many questions about the efficiency of the banking system.
