The president of Romania, Nicușor Dan, confirmed that he was called by the leader of France after the victory of “this night, one in which all of Europe stayed on the Romanian elections.”
“I thank President Emanuel Macron for the greeting call this night, one in which all of Europe was keeping an eye on the Romanian elections. We have assured President Macron that we will continue to be trusted partners within the European Union, and that in the next few days we will have consistent discussions on our common future and the European Union,” said Nicu.
After the centralization of 99.84% of the minutes, Nicușor Dan has over 858,000 votes in addition to George Simion and can no longer be caught, so he has won the presidential elections. The Gold leader acknowledged his defeat and also congratulated his counter-candidate.

“I called Nicușor Dan and congratulated him on his choice at the forefront of Romania. Despite the numerous manipulation attempts, the Romanians chose the democracy, the rule of law and the European Union,” the French president said.
