The alley of honorary citizens of Krasnoyarsk in the central park was replenished with young trees.
It began to be improved almost 20 years ago-in 2008. Then the first plants were planted in honor of the townspeople who made a significant contribution to the development of Krasnoyarsk. This year, on the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, it was decided to continue the tradition.
Veterans of their own and participants in the hostilities, fighters of construction detachments, and the reaches who store the memory of the dead warriors of the Great Patriotic War joined the event. Together, they landed 34 large apple trees.
“This year, by the decision of the city council, the honorary title“ Honorary Citizen of Krasnoyarsk ”was assigned to veterans of the Great Patriotic War living in the city. This was done on behalf of President Vladimir Putin, and our city was one of the first in Russia, where this instruction has already been fulfilled. The city had 34 more honorary citizens, and the alley in the central park became more than 34 wood, ”said deputy Elena Yuzhakova.
The trees were planted according to all the rules of science – with a huge earthen lump into a deep hole, filled up the root system with a chernozem, shed a lot of water. This is necessary for the plants to take root and please the Krasnoyarsk residents and guests of the city for a dozen years.
“Sahenians are grown in Krasnoyarsk. This is an apple tree “berry”, in a simple “wild”, it blooms very beautifully and feels good in the city. The choice of this variety is also due to the fact that we continue the existing alley consisting of apple trees and pears, ”said Elena Selenina, director of the Botanical Garden of the Siberian Federal University and the curator of a landscaping project in the central park.
All trees are registered – next to each a sign with the name of the veteran is installed. Since the deputies of the City Council annually take part in events dedicated to Victory Day, and congratulate veterans, the names indicated on the tablets are well known to them. People's chosen ones visit veterans, work on improving the conditions and quality of life of war participants, camp prisoners, residents of the besieged Leningrad, and children of war.
“From time to time in Russia, trees were planted in honor of outstanding people. And look how many young people gathered in the park at this event today! The landing of trees in honor of the honorary citizens of Krasnoyarsk we want to remind the future generation of the military feat of our veterans. It is especially valuable that this happens in the year of the 80th anniversary of Victory! ”, Shared Natalia Firyulina, chairman of the City Council.
