Rob Worsoff, which emigrated from Canada, made a proposal to produce such a program. Wrsoff said “WSJ” that the program is to arouse hope and is to be a celebration of what it means to be an American citizen.

“These are not + Death Games + for immigrants,” said the originator. Immigrants would compete with each other in various competitions, including e.g. about American history and science.

The spokeswoman for the National Security Ministry Tricia McLaughlin said that she talked to the originator of this reality show and the possibility of cooperation with the program is being considered. She informed that the idea is at a “very initial stage of the verification process” and added that “each proposal goes through a thorough verification process before its rejection or acceptance.”

McLaughlin pointed out that the ministry receives hundreds of proposals a year regarding potential television programs, including, for example, documentary films on operations regarding the security of the border.

As “WSJ” wrote, the style of Kristi Noem's office as the head of the ministry is tailored to television and “puts publicity first, sometimes at the expense of operating activities”.

The newspaper wrote that the ministry allocated over $ 200 million for an advertising campaign, in which Noem spoke to immigrants, staying in the US illegally to return to their countries.

Wrsoff said he was not in contact with Noem and does not know if the head of the ministry knows about his idea. He emphasized that he had received positive signals on his proposal and had already conducted preliminary conversations about production with television.

“WSJ” noted that the program producer has already presented his idea to the American government during the Barack Obama administration and later Joe Biden. (PAP)
