Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski said on Wednesday that he is prepared for “any form of negotiations” to put an end to the war with Russia and said he will decide on “measures to be taken” when he will know who will represent Moscow at Istanbul on Thursday, AFP reports.
“I expect to see who arrives from Russia. Then I will decide what measures Ukraine will take,” Zenski said in his daily speech. “Ukraine is prepared for all forms of negotiations and we are not afraid of meetings,” he added.
The Russian-Ukrainian negotiations that will take place on Thursday in Istanbul will address political and technical issues, the foreign policy counselor of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Iuri Usakov, said, notes the EFE agency.

The Kremlin leader had the initiative of these negotiations, after rejecting an ultimatum through which the main European allies of Ukraine threatened Russia that if starting the Luna who passed, they do not accept a cease for 30 days will impose new sanctions.
The latest Russian-Ukrainian direct negotiations also took place in Istanbul in March-April 2022, one month after the launch of the Russian invasion on Ukraine. According to Russia, a peace agreement had been agreed to those negotiations, but which was ultimately abandoned by Kiev at the request of the former American administration of President Joe Biden and the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and Ukraine did not want to sign him as soon as the Russian troops withdrew from the Capital area.
