The President of Ukraine Wołodymyr Zelanski said on Wednesday that he expected who would represent Russia on Thursday conversations in Istanbul about the suspension of weapons and depending on this he will make further decisions.

“I am waiting for who will come from Russia, then I will determine what steps Ukraine should take. Signals from them in the media are ambiguous for now, but we also hear that the president (USA Donald) Trump is considering coming to Turkey. So this may be the strongest argument. This week can really change a lot,” said the head of the state in the evening recording.

Zelanski emphasized that Russia, its leader Vladimir Putin, has a decisive word in the matter of war against Ukraine. “It is Putin who decides everything in Russia and it is he who is to solve the issues of war. This is his war. And therefore the talks are to take place with him,” he said.

The president noted that the Ukrainian team conducts intensive preparations for his visit to Turkey and thanked the partners who showed their support.

“In general, European leaders issue decisive statements and take very decisive steps. I want to thank them again. We know China's views, in particular to support weapons and negotiations. The United States clearly and clearly state that leaders have to meet. Ukraine is absolutely ready for a really effective conversation format,” Zelanski emphasized.

On Thursday, Turkey's conversations of Russia and Ukraine regarding the end of the full -scale war started by Moscow in February 2022 are to begin.
