Unique presence at the Victorian Day parade: Actor Steven Seagal, along with officials and military

An unique character drew attention in the crowd gathered at the Victorian Day parade, organized by Russian leader Vladimir Putin on May 9. This is about American actor Steven Seagal, known for his roles in action films in the 1990s.

Among the images of T-90 tanks, Tornado-S launchers and Iskander ballistic missiles, was surprised by the Ruse and Seagal Russian television cameras. The actor was seen standing next to the members of the Night Wolves nationalist group, a formation of pro-Kremlin motorcyclists, according to Business Insider.
The close friend of President Vladimir Putin, Steven Seagal received Russian citizenship in 2016, and two years later he was appointed special representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry to promote Russian culture in the United States. The actor repeatedly expressed his support for Moscow's policy, including after the invasion of Ukraine.
Seagal was not the only American celebrity present at the event. Director Oliver Stone, winner of three Oscars and author of a documentary about Putin, was photographed sharing Vladimir Putin in an official reception. Stone described a little right “A great leader”in an interview given in May 2023 to The Guardian.
This year, Russia organized a great parade in the Red Square, after two limited editions against the background of the conflict in Ukraine. The presence of Chinese leader XI Jinping and other officials in Eastern Europe and Central Asia has been a signal of Moscow's efforts to reaffirm its international influence.
In the context of escalating tensions, Ukraine has launched several drones on the days pre -parade, causing the temporary closure of some airports in Moscow. Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski warned international leaders that visit to Russia on May 9 could be risky.
To ensure the security of the event, the Russian authorities closed the internet access in the center of Moscow and activated additional air defense measures, including against drones.
