Sometimes, in football, not only the teams, but also the sponsors, are not in football. Gazeta has proposed a unique analysis: which were the former companies that sponsored the champions in Liga 1?

How was the situation in the years after the revolution? We were interested in the main sponsors, those who stayed on the players' chest and occupied the most visual space on the shirts. An interesting note is that there were 5 champions with names that did not have the main sponsor on the shirt.

What sponsors had champions in Romania: from names such as Connex or Cosmorom, to the big bookmakers

Many of the companies that sponsored the champions of Romania have disappeared from the Romanian market, changed their names or gave up involvement in football.

There were names such as dialogue, Cosmorom or Connex, Bancorex, Ladorna or Omiasig, but also companies such as Interagro, ArcelorMittal or Alexandrion.

Saniplast, the first sponsor in Dinamo's history. How did they get on t -shirts

Just before '89, the band from Stefan cel Mare had on T -shirts, as a sponsor, Saniplast. This collaboration meant free equipment every year, plus 50,000 brands per season.

“It is a company that produces objects to arrange the bathrooms. It was owned by the owner of Brescia, Luigi Corioni. The first match in which Dinamo played with the sponsor on the shirts was in a match with Dundee United.

After the Revolution, the players received the money abroad, so they could buy from there what they did not have in Romania. The first was 200 player brands, all from Saniplast and Corioni. The intermediary of bringing Saniplast to Dinamo I was also, “explained Ermanno Zacchini, a former Italian agent.

Steaua and Dinamo, the same sponsor but with different names

A unique detail: the two rivals Bucharest had the same sponsor, but with a different name. Between 1997 and 1999, Steaua played on the chest with dialogue, one of the two mobile companies at that time.

From

In 2002, the company changed its name and became Orange. Later, since 2007, he became a sponsor at Dinamo. And the partnership lasted 12 years.

Scandal tied to Bancorex

In the 1990s, when Steaua dominated the championship, the red-blue team signed with a strong sponsor. Since 1994, the “military” had the Romanian Foreign Trade Bank on the chest, which after two years became Bancorex. The partnership lasted until 1997, when legal issues appeared.

Bancorex was the most important bank on the Romanian market since then, and the contract has signed thanks to Viorel Hrebenciuc. In 1997, the Court of Accounts discovered serious irregularities at Bancorex. The bank grants loans with fictitious guarantees to companies or large companies. A year later he went bankrupt, with a debt of $ 2.4 billion.
