The British police have announced that they are investigating a fire that broke out in the early hours of Monday at a home in northern London belonging to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, an incident that no one was injured, writes Reuters and The Guardian.

“The prime minister thanks the emergency services for the efforts. The incident is the subject of an ongoing investigation and, therefore, we will not make any other comments,” said a Starmer Press Office spokesman.

The police sent in a statement, without mentioning the name of the British leader, that she was called to the incident after calls that reported a fire around local time 01:35 (00:35 GMT).

“The officers went to the scene. Damages were registered at the entrance to the property, but no one was injured,” the London Metropolitan Police said. “The fire is being investigated, and the area remains isolated until the investigation is completed,” the British police said.

Firefighters in London have announced that they had intervened at a “small proportions”.

Starmer, who has a house in northern London, lives in the residence and office of Downing Street since he became prime minister last year.

The British press writes that the property in the northern London of the British Prime Minister has been rented.
