“The fourth round of indirect Iran -US negotiations has been completed; difficult but useful conversations to better understand the positions of the other party and find reasonable and realistic ways to solve differences,” wrote on platform X spokesman for Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Esmaeil Baghaei.

A representative of the US administration, cited by the Reuters agency, stated that the talks were “encouraging” and the next round would take place “in the near future”.

Indirect and direct conversations between the head of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abbas Aragczim and the special US Messenger for the Middle East Steve Witkoff were to concern the “technical” aspects of the restriction of the Iranian nuclear program. President Donald Trump and other American officials said before the meeting that it was necessary to completely destroy the centrifuges and other installations for enriching uranium by Iran. Witkoff himself threatened that if the fourth round of negotiations was not “productive”, the US would have to choose a “different path”, suggesting possible use of force.

In turn, Tehran signaled that he would not give up “investigating his inalienable rights to the peaceful use of nuclear energy.” (PAP)
