The difference in vision between the UDMR and the Budapest government on the Romanian elections. What did Kelemen Hunor say one day from Orban's statements

One day after Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban had praised George Simion for speech “Sovereign” and “Pro-Christian”, Kelemen Hunor, the president of the UDMR, accused the chief of gold of being “Anti-Hungarian”.

“Simion is neither a sovereign, nor a Christian-it is anti-Hungarian! We will not forget that he danced on the graves of our grandparents (no referring to the scandal from Valea Uzului) And we will not forget that, with hundreds of processes, our native language, our flags and symbols. Let's stop Simion On May 18, Let's go to vote and support Nicușor Dan! #Stopsimion ”, said Kelemen Hunor in a message posted in Hungarian on his Facebook account.

For the support of Nicușor Dan, the UDMR relies on the votes of the more than 1 million Romanian citizens of Hungarian ethnicity, a community that was constantly attacked by gold.

Rupture between UDMR and the Budapest Government on the topic of elections in Romania

The statements of Kelemen Hunor come after the statements of the prime minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, who said, in a speech held on Friday, May 9, that Romania and Hungary count each other in “Their struggles for Christianity and sovereignty” And he quoted the Gold candidate in the presidential elections, George Simion, although the UDMR had already announced that he was supporting Nicușor Dan in the second round of the presidential.

“Yesterday, during the presidential debate in Romania, Hungary was mentioned in connection with Christianity. One of the candidates, Mr. Simion, said the following:” Now is the time for a Europe, a Christian Europe in which we will fight for our right to be European citizens. ” Romanian ”said Viktor Orban.

The Hungarian prime minister also stated that “We will not mix in the struggles in the presidential elections in progress now in Romania, but (…) We provide the Romanian people and its future president that we support cooperation and we will not support any attempt to isolate or political revenge against Romania or its leaders.”

We recall that the Viktor Orban government was used by its funds and the political influence to finance both radical Hungarian parties on the territory of Romania, but without real power, but also supported the most relevant formation, UDMR, through the money given to NGOs led by leaders of the formation.
