During the presidential debate with Nicușor Dan, a message appeared on the Facebook page of George Simion, which was deleted later, at the end of the confrontation of almost four hours between the two presidential candidates.

The post, published during the debate, contained the message: “I hope not to run”, referring to his counter -candidate, Nicușor Dan, and had over 1,500 reactions.

This remark was interpreted as an irony against Nicușor Dan, in the context in which Simion had previously accused him of avoiding direct confrontations.

The debate from Euronews Romania, which started at 8:00 pm and ended after about four hours, was the first television confrontation between the two candidates.

The leader of Gold, George Simion, and the independent presidential candidate, Nicușor Dan, were on several topics, such as the support granted to Moldova, the aid to Ukraine, but also the state of the health system in Romania. The debate took place at the headquarters of the National University of Science and Technology Polytechnic Bucharest.
