George Simion prepares the land for Călin Georgescu: “It must be part of the management of this country”

The leader and candidate for the Gold in the Presidential Finals, George Simion, said on Tuesday evening, in an interview with Euronews Romania, that former candidate Călin Georgescu “must be part of the management of this country”, “if the Romanians go to vote and decide this”.

George Simion was questioned, during the interview, about the statement he said he wants Georgescu to be his “prime minister”.

“Not mine, excluded this. May I be the prime minister of Călin Georgescu, in a democratic logic, in which the voice of the Romanians is heard. I said that if it is the will of the Romanians and if the Romanians go to vote and decide, Călin Georgescu must be part of the leadership of this country. Of the Romanians, ”said Simion.

“I said that it is excluded that Mr. Georgescu is my prime minister, but the prime minister of the Romanian people. As long as the Romanians will vote, I do not appreciate what other people said.

What George Simion said about Călin Georgescu:

• “He is the man voted by the Romanians and the Romanians support him, he is the Romanian people and it is not about Mr. Georgescu or a person, it is a principle here, a democratic principle. And if I, who I was labeled as an extremist, with extreme-right tendencies and so on, if I get to give lessons of democracy and show the cheek of those who canceled the elections and if I say, if Georgescu is voted, he must be at the leadership of the country, so it means that the gentlemen who have been led us for 35 years.
• They took Romania to BBB-Minus, they took Romania to a hybrid regime.
• If they choose to do so, they are not democrats, they have authoritarian tendencies.“

Simion: “I would say that he takes my hand”

Simion was asked about the controversial statements of Călin Georgescu, including the prohibition of political parties in Romania, given that the gold leader displayed along with him at the time he voted in the first round of the presidential elections.

“Well, you took your own hand, you were together at the voting section,” said journalist Andra Miron Diaconescu, the one who had an interview.

“Rather, I would say that he takes my hand. But there are sterile discussions and I really appreciate that, however, we find this possibility to dialogue,” Simion replied.

“No one wants to ban political parties in Romania. I started a political party from scratch and we are the main political force and I am the guarantor of respect for democracy. That's why I am here,” said Simion, quoted by News.ro.

“I do not want the support of Ponta, Nor Ciolacu, nor Predoiu”

About the parliamentary majority, George Simion said that “the current majority is in a dissolution and has no popular support.”

“I do not want the support of Mr. Ponta, nor Mr. Ciolacu, nor Mr. Predoiu, who, a few days ago, blasphemed Nicuşor Dan, and now, the faces, support him. I do not want to associate with these gentlemen.

“You see, two days ago, I was derived, I gave an interview with the Financial Times and I said that the current majority will not exist when their candidate does not benefit from the vote of the Romanians. Form a government majority.

“There are many scenarios, many theses, say. This is why I would not want to give myself the assumption. Let's return to constitutional logic, to have some correct choices, to have a president and then we put brick brick, we put the constitutional order where the place is,” said the Gold.
