The leaders of the coalition parties will meet today at the Government from 1:00 pm, after the common candidate of the three political formations missed the entrance to the second round of the presidential elections, ranking in third place, with 20% of the votes.
The leaders of the parties will analyze today the results obtained on Sunday night, following an election campaign in which they were dissatisfied with the mobilization of mayors and leaders in the territory.
This is the second failure registered by both PSD and PNL, the two largest parties in the country who have not succeeded in the 2024 presidential elections to secure a place in the second round.
On Sunday night, after the announcement of the Estezitati Exit-Poll, when Crin Antonescu and Nicușor Dan were at an extem score, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu was convinced that Antonescu “will be in the final”. Asked if he will resign, in the context of the results obtained by Antonescu, he replied: “But why do I resign? I did not apply.”
On Sunday night, the PSD leaders left the party headquarters before the counting of all votes ends.

When he acknowledged his defeat, Crin Antonescu said he did not know what the coalition was to do and that he was not part of it.
“I do not know what the coalition will do, I was not part of the coalition. I thank the three parties again and the minority group for their support in the campaign, but the political decisions belong exclusively. As for me, I presented a program, some ideas, some people voted,” said Antonescu.
