“RN-Vovorkor” (part of the Rosneft oil and gas complex) became the general partner of the main holiday of the indigenous peoples of the North-the Day of the Olenevod, which was held in the Taimyr village of Nosok.

This event became the central cultural event of the traditional Ecoarctic Forum, which is held in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, where the flagship project of Vostok Oil is being implemented.

The most spectacular part of the holiday was reindeer races, in which more than 300 participants competed for the title of fastest Kayur in the male, female and youth races. The indigenous residents also participated in northern competitions: jumping through sledges, tug of sticks and throwing of Mauta on a chorea (Arkan is thrown into a long pole, which is driven by deer).

A competition of national clothing was held on the ethnic platform, and women presented dishes of northern cuisine from fish and deer meat, as well as products of decorative art. The winners of all competitions received gifts from oil workers. The holiday ended with a large concert with the participation of local creative groups.

In the village of sock, more than 1.5 thousand people live, of which almost 90 % are representatives of indigenous peoples leading a nomadic lifestyle. The preservation of national culture and the traditional way of life of the indigenous peoples of the North is an important direction of the social policy of Rosneft.

The company actively builds housing for the indigenous population, develops the infrastructure of the northern villages, helps with reindeer herder families and improves the material and technical base of educational institutions, social facilities and healthcare institutions in the natives of the north of the north.
