The Israeli army has issued thousands of calls for reservists to support the extension of the offensive in Gaza, writes the Israel press, quoted by Reuters.
The reservists will be sent to the border of Israel with Lebanon and in the busy West, replacing the soldiers there, who will be relocated to a new offensive in the Gaza strip, writes the Ynet website. For now, the army has not commented on the information.
At the beginning of the days, the prime minister's office announced that Benjamin Netanyahu will reschedule his visit from May 7-11 to Azerbaijan, invoking the events in Gaza and Syria. For the time being, a new date has been announced for the visit in which the president Ilham Aliev had to meet.
The Israeli press wrote on Friday that, within the security office, the plans for an extended operation in Gaza were approved.
Israel broke the armistice with Hamas in March after trying to extend it without engaging in negotiations for a permanent ceasefire. Hamas claims that he will free the rest of the hostages he has in Gaza only if a peace agreement is reached.
The army has since intensified the bombing campaign and created large buffer zones in Gaza, piling up the population of 2,300,000 inhabitants in a small area in the center of the enclave and along the coast and blocking the provision of humanitarian aid.
The management of Israel said that it is determined to achieve the goals to defeat Hamas and to bring home the 59 hostages who are still held in Gaza.
So far, 192 hostages were released from the negotiations and Israeli military operations started in November 2023. Most were abducted on October 7, 2023, when the Hamas militants attacked Israel by killing around 1,200 people, most civilians, according to Israeli authorities.
The war of reprisals of Israel reduced much of the gas to the rubble and killed over 50,000 Palestinians, most of them civilians, according to the Ministry of Health.
