If you dream of large and sweet strawberries, pay attention to the Aromas variety. The berries are juicy, dense, with thin skin and a taste that reveals honey, wild strawberries and a light fruity note.
What makes Aromas special:
- Double fruiting. The first harvest is in June, the second – from August until frost. The berries do not become smaller in the second wave, as in many varieties.
- Large berries. Each weighs 30-40g, about the size of a walnut, ideal for freezing and desserts.
- Sugar content up to 12%. The sweetness is natural, without acid, as if the berry had ripened under the southern sun.
- Dense pulp. The berries do not wrinkle during transportation, do not crack from rain and do not rot in the garden.
- Frost resistance. Withstands down to –25°C when mulched.
- Resistance to gray rot. Even in rainy summers, the berries remain intact and shiny.
How to grow:
- Plant in a sunny bed with light, well-drained soil. Better on raised ridges.
- Water regularly, but do not overwater. Strawberries don't like “wet feet”.
- Feed with ash and humus in the spring and after the first harvest.
- Remove the whiskers if you do not plan to reproduce, so the berries will be larger.
- In the fall, mulch the bed with straw or leaves. This will protect the roots from freezing.
Strawberry “Aromas” will become your favorite berry. And in September, when everyone has already run out of strawberries, a second harvest of sugar giants will appear in your garden.
