According to the framework of the proposed budget published by the Management and Budget Bureau (OMB), Trump wants to cut expenses into most areas outside of defense and protection of borders, a total of $ 163 billion, i.e. by as much as 23 percent. At the same time, according to the president's vision, the defensive budget would be over $ 1 trillion for the first time in history after an increase in expenses by 13 percent.

The defensive budget would be focused on investments in the areas of “strengthening the safety, protection and sovereignty of the homeland (i.e. strengthening the protection of borders), stopping Chinese aggression in the Indo-Pacific; and the revival of the American industrial base in the field of defense.”

As Politico writes, “dramatic” and “unprecedented” cuts would apply to environmental initiatives and investments in renewable energy sources, a network of chargers for electric cars, education, foreign assistance programs. The project also codifies part of the Doge team suspension of expenses made without the consent of the Congress.

The FBI budget would be cut off by $ 500 million as part of the “completion of the use of justice as a weapon”, and the 25 % cuts would affect NASA, which would mean, among others Giving up the plan to place the moon of the permanent Gateway space station. Despite this, the White House argues that the new budget would order the agency to focus on “defeating China in the racing to the moon and place the first man on Mars.” Large cuts would also be waiting for investments in scientific research of national health institutes. The budget of control and prevention centers (CDC) would also be reduced by more than half.

The project submitted by OMB is only a budget proposal, but its final shape will be determined by the Congress, which often changes the presidential plans. Politico comments that the proposal of the White House may encounter the significant resistance of parliamentarians, including those from his own party.
