In the press conference on Thursday night, the independent candidate for presidential Nicușor Dan offered new explanations regarding the opinion for the start of the construction of the private oncology hospital, which he issued only on April 30, during the election campaign, despite a defining decision of the court. The general mayor invoked “legal nuances”.

Asked why he complied with the judicial decisions, Nicușor Dan replied: “I want to give you an example, to have some legal nuances. In 2008-2009, the mayor of Bucharest was obliged to issue, following a dispute, following a definitive decision, two authorizations for some buildings for some buildings in Kiseleff. “They were issued on the basis of a court decision”, but the court said “No, they are illegal even if they were issued on the basis of a court decision”.

The general mayor has admitted that he has no tasks to question a court decision. “Except with so-called extraordinary remedies. But an authorization issued on the basis of a court decision you have to attack it, on reasons other than those that pronounced the court,” he said.

“I have never done this,” Nicușor Dan replied, after being asked what signal gives a presidential candidate who questions the rule of law.

The general mayor of the Capital, Nicușor Dan, was obliged by the judges to issue a building permit for the Sanador Clinic on October 11, 2023, but the mayor did not comply with the definitive sentence pronounced by the Bucharest Court of Appeal, the data from the files before the court, consulted by HotNews.ro shows.

Because he did not apply the court's decision, he was sanctioned with a fine of 20 % of the minimum gross wage per economy per day of delay, according to the definitive sentence pronounced by the same court on June 5, 2024.

Nicușor Dan acknowledged during the electoral debate from Antena 3, on Wednesday evening, that he signed the authorization regarding the construction of a private oncological clinic for children, in Bucharest. The answer came to the insistence of Crin Antonescu who accused the mayor of the general of delaying the authorization, although that clinic had a “two -year” court decision. “For several months,” Nicușor Dan replied, counting him.

On Thursday morning, Nicușor Dan reacted on Facebook on the same topic, accusing that Sanador “abused in the way he built, in an overcrowded area of Bucharest, and now he wants to abuse more.”
