Karol Nawrocki was on Thursday in Washington, where he met, among others with the Secretary of State Marco Rubio or Secretary of Health Robert F. Kennedy Junior. -I got an invitation to this series of meetings, they show that the future Polish president can take care of Polish-American relations-he said on Thursday evening Polish time during a press conference. As he told journalists at the time, there was no meeting with President Trump.
At night, however, Telewizja Republika reported that such a meeting took place. Later, the President of the Institute of National Remembrance himself confirmed this information at the station. – This meeting was not in the official agenda, because today was very hard -working for President Trump – said Nawrocki. The interview with the US president was to take place at the end of a visit to the White House – PiS candidate.
– During the conversation the thread of the presidential election appeared, a reference to the current President Duda, who is a friend of President Trump, you can see that this relationship is important for President Trump – said Nawrocki on TV Republika.
– President Trump said: You will win [zwyciężysz]. I read it as a kind of wish for my success in the upcoming elections – he said.
In a conversation on TV Republika, Karol Nawrocki repeated that during meetings with American Congressmen and representatives of Donald Trump's administration, questions about the situation in Poland and the upcoming elections were asked. According to the PiS candidate, the Americans asked, among others for attacks on Republika television, as well as the issue of subsidies.
Until the publication, the White House did not confirm that there was a meeting between the candidate in the presidential election of Poland and President Trump. Karol Nawrocki's staff did not publish any photographs from the meeting.
