“Birobidzhaner Stern” (12+) for May 2, 2012. “Our all” Anna Dubinskaya. An interesting article on the history and the present day of one of the old streets of Birobidzhan. This is Lenin Street, which until 1938 was named after Postyyshev.
It was on this street that the buildings of the 1930s and 40s were preserved, despite the numerous repairs. As the author of the article says: “… The only place in the city where the spirit of the old Birobidzhan is preserved … and it seems that the steps of those who built the area playing in the theater created newspapers and wrote poetry are still heard here.”

On May 2, 2018, a small article “The Museum celebrated the anniversary” was published in the newspaper Birobidzhaner Stern, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Pension Museum.
Recall that the museum was created in 2008. He became the first not only in Russia, but also in the world, he was even entered in the book of rare museums in the world, this is his uniqueness.
“The museum exposition covers an almost three -hundred -year period of Russian history from the time of Peter the Great to the present day. It has about 600 exhibits. Among the unique ones are pension books of the Hero of the First World War, which had three St. George Cross, a document of the soldier’s widow of World War II, drawn up in a simple newspaper.”

These publications give an idea of how grandiose was celebrated on May 1 in our region.
By tradition, the newspaper was covered by the celebration of Pervoma in the city and in the regions of the region. Here's how the festive Birobidzhan district is described in the material: “Devasted, the villages of the Prigorodny district were prettier. Everywhere – scarlet flags, multi -colored garlands, banners telling about the remarkable achievements of agricultural workers“.
On the eve of April 30, on the central estates of farms, solemn meetings were held. The livestock breeders of the district reported on the early implementation of the plan for the sale of milk, meat to the state, and the bakeries coped with grain crop. The best state farms and collective farms for great successes in honor of the holiday were awarded with diplomas, livestock breeders and field breeders who completed the plan ahead of schedule, were presented with honorary diplomas, valuable gifts and cash prizes.
The article further states that “in front of the workers sat with festive concerts (0+) and the performances were groups of amateur performances.”
“On the morning of May 1, the teams of industrial enterprises and construction projects, the employees of organizations, teachers and schoolchildren took part in the festive demonstration of workers (0+) of the regional center.
