Which PSD leader opposes that Lia Olguța Vasilescu becomes a prime minister – sources

The mayor of Craiova, Lia Olguța Vasilescu, is a name discussed in the PSD to become a prime minister, given that Marcel Ciolacu has been massively eroded in the two years at the head of the Government. But, surprisingly, a party leader in the party opposes Olguța Vasilescu to become prime minister.

One of the scenarios discussed in the PSD in the last days of the election campaign was the replacement of Marcel Ciolacu from the head of the Government even if Crin Antonescu will be able to win the presidential elections, political sources say for Adevărul.
PSD leader Marcel Ciolacu is the strongest supporter of Crin Antonescu in the ruling coalition. For his part, Crin Antonescu promised to keep Ciolacu as prime minister if he reaches the Cotroceni Palace. But the data in the polls could lead to a major change at the tip of the state.
“Marcel Ciolacu has eroded strongly after 5 years in front of the party, 4 years as a leader of the ruling coalition, two years as a prime minister and a missed campaign. A new beginning in Romanian politics is needed. If Crin Antonescu arrives, we would be better to install a new Government”, Sources from the management of the ruling coalition say.
One of the names discussed in the PSD for the head of the government is Lia Olguța Vasilescu, leader with seniority in the party, currently mayor of Craiova, the sources quoted shows. The plan would be the following: Crin Antonescu to win the presidential elections, Marcel Ciolacu to resign from the head of the Government, the current parliamentary majority to be maintained, then to install a new executive with Lia Olguța Vasilescu in the forehead.
But the plan is refused precisely by the leader of PSD Dolj, Claudiu Manda, none other than Lia Olguța Vasilescu's husband. “Manda does not want Olguța to come to Bucharest and be exposed again, as she was in Dragnea, when she was Minister of Labor. Manda did not involve in the discussions about the future president of the PSD, although he is one of the most powerful leaders in the territory. For him, the best solution is for Olguța to stay at the town hall. Although Olguța seems to control the branch, to know that Manda is the boss”, I say the sources quoted.
At this moment, the party is waiting for the presidential denouement. If Crin Antonescu wins, a peaceful transfer solution will be negotiated. In contrast, a defeat to the presidential would lead to the end of the ruling coalition and, at the same time, to the resignation of Marcel Ciolacu from the front of the party and the government.
Crin Antonescu was asked, at an election debate, about two scenarios on the future government, if he will become president: “Bolojan Premier or Lia Olguța Vasilescu Premier, after a sacrifice period this year?”.
“I can't confirm you, and I can even denies you. I am an admirer of Olguța Vasilescu, I am convinced that he would be a good prime minister, as does Ilie Bolojan”, Replied Crin Antonescu.
