Today, at 10 pm, Romania time was opened in Auckland, New Zealand, the Permanent Elelctoral Authority (AEP) was opened.

In Auckland, almost 100 Romanians expressed their vote last year, in the first round of the presidential elections, annulled by the CCR decision. Elena Lasconi obtained 56 votes, ie 58.33% of the total. In the second place was Mircea Geoană.

The vote in the diaspora takes place during three days, between 07:00 and 21:00, the local time, and will end on Monday morning, according to the time zone.

In total, outside the borders there are 965 polling stations, with 15 more than in the presidential elections canceled last year, where 1,004.188 voters are expected, according to AEP data.

According to the information provided, 3,600,000 ballots reached these sections.

Where can voters in the diaspora vote

The voters in the Diaspora or those who are temporarily abroad can vote in the presidential elections at any of the sections organized abroad, even if they have not registered on the portal www.votstraine.ro.

In order to vote, the voters must present an identity document issued by the Romanian state, valid on the day of voting.

Thus, one of the following identity document is required:

-identity book

-The electronic identity card

-The provisional identity card

-the identity bull

-diplomatic development

-Electronic diplomatic development

-The service of service

-The electronic service pathway

-Pa simple (including electronic and temporary variants)

-the military service car (valid in the case of students in military schools).

In the country the presidential elections are held on Sunday between 7:00 and 21:00, in almost 19,000 polling stations. In the ballot box, a total of 19 million Romanian citizens with voting rights are expected.
