Kamala Harris, the Democrat defeated by Donald Trump in the 2024 elections, criticized the actions of the US president of the first 100 days in office, warning in his first major speech after the end of the deputy president that the nation is a “total abandonment of the highest ideals of America” by the man, by the man.

Addressing to an audience made up of Democrats in San Francisco, the former US vice-president has adopted a challenging position towards the new administration, praising leaders and institutions opposing Trump and his aggressive agenda-from members of the Congress who act boldly and to the judges “who support them to the rule, who would support them to the universities, who would support the rule, The “unconstitutional requests” of the administration and up to the ordinary Americans who mobilize to protect social security.

The speech, the most powerful that he supported after Trump's return to power, represented a remarkable recurrence for Harris on the public scene. The former vice -president, who now lives in Los Angeles and analyzes his next move, such as a possible candidacy for California's governor or a new attempt to win the US Presidency in 2028, has largely kept a discreet profile after leaving the White House.

“Let us not be fooled in believing that everything is chaos.”

In her remarks, she accused Trump of deliberately sowing fear and chaos to strengthen her own executive power, in a beginning of a “high speed” that threw the country to a constitutional crisis.

“It is based on the idea that if they can make some people be afraid, this will have a discouraging effect on others,” says Kamala Harris. “But what they have overlooked is that fear is not the only contagious thing. Courage is contagious,” added Democrat.

Harris urged Americans to continue organizing, applying for functions and defending fundamental rights and values.

In the public were present democratic donors, elected officials and candidates, including Eleni Kounalakis, California's lieutenant, and the former California Katie Porter, who will run for the state governor's position.

During the speech, Kamala Harris claimed that the chaotic beginning of the second Trump president was an intentional one, as provided in Project 2025 (project 2025), a conservative political plan that was published by Heritage Foundation in 2023.

“Please do not let them deceive them in believing that everything is chaos,” Harris said. “We are, in fact, witnesses to an instrument used for the rapid implementation of an agenda that has been developed for decades,” she continued.

During the campaign, Donald Trump tried to distance himself from that project, but his actions as president follow the close plan, from his radical approach to reducing the dimensions of the federal government and to the war unleashed against “gender ideology” and diversity, equity and inclusion policies.

Trump's “insane” rates “clearly invited to a recession,” Harris said, with a subtle allusion to his warnings during the campaign, “as I predicted.”
