The independent candidate for presidential elections John-Ion Banu-Muscel believes that Romanians should have the right to hold weapons, and this would strengthen the country's security and discourage Russia, knowing that they would face a “guerrilla war”.
Present at the debate “A president for Romania” organized at the Cotroceni Palace by TVR, Banu-Muscel was asked if, in the event that he would become president, he would consider a military training system, writes Agerpres.
“As for the preparation of the army, because in the end any state needs a certain force for defense, I would go a lot on the volunteering, but paid. Those who are enrolled in this service to be their choice, not to draw them by lots (…). of citizens in defense, and the government must respect this right, ”said the independent candidate.
He said that “if the Romanians had a weapon”, “I don't think the Russians will dare to come when we know we will make a kind of guerrilla.”
“So, somewhere I discourage them by this peaceful action and, at the same time, the security and the right to defend the citizens are guaranteed,” John-Ion Banu-Muscel position.
