Calin Georgescu arrived, on Wednesday morning, at the headquarters of the District 1 Court, where he filed a complaint a few days ago against the decision of the General Prosecutor's Office to extend the measure of judicial control in the file in which he is criminally investigated for six crimes, including instigating actions against the constitutional order.
Near the court was located an important security device of the Gendarmerie, and several dozens of supporters of Georgescu were present.
On April 24, Călin Georgescu was called to the General Prosecutor's Office to inform the extension by another 30 days of the measure of judicial control.
During this measure, Călin Georgescu must be presented periodically to the Ilfov County Police Inspectorate and has several prohibitions, including leaving the country without the approval of the judicial authorities and is not allowed to post on the social networks contained with a legionary, fascist, anti -Semitic, racist or xenofob.
Georgescu is prosecuted for committing six crimes, the most serious being that of notifying actions against the constitutional order, in tempted form, being accused of having set up a plan to destabilize Romania with the help of mercenaries led by Horațiu Potra, after the Constitutional Court annulled the results of the first round.
On March 9, the Central Electoral Office invalidated the candidacy of Călin Georgescu to the presidential, being invoked the decision of the Constitutional Court of December 2024, by which the elections in the first round were annulled.
