Elena Andreea Taloș (31 years old) ranked 9th in the triple jump final at the World Indoor Athletics Championships. Alexia Ioana Dospin (22 years old), her compatriot, finished the competition in 13th position.
On Saturday, March 21, in Torun, in Poland, the final of the triple jump event at the World Indoor Athletics Championships took place. Romania had two representatives, Elena Taloș, who was twice in the top 8 at this competition, and Alexia Dospin, the European U23 champion from 2025.
Elena Taloș was close to breaking the 14-meter mark in the triple jump final
Our athletes could not face the big names in this test, but Taloș was close to surpassing the 14-meter mark. The 31-year-old athlete missed the first jump, then jumped 13.85 meters on the second jump and then improved her jump: 13.98 meters.
Talos missed the fourth jump and finished the triple jump final in 9th position. Instead, Dospin ranked 13th, with 13.20 meters. The 22-year-old athlete jumped 13.20 in the first, after which the next two jumps were not as good: 13.09 meters and 12.69 meters.

They will compete in the Kujawsko-Pomorska Arena on Sunday, March 22. The long jump final will start at 11:20, while the shot put final will start at 12:23.
