The last month of the Superliga was lived with maximum intensity, the final battle being between the three great favorites: FCSB, Craiova University and CFR Cluj. Meanwhile, the Romanian Cup designated its finalists. We officially open the voting procedure for the readers GSP.ro, who will choose the “player of the month” and “coach of the month” April 2025, within the “Best” project.

We have little until we find out the new champion of Romania, but until the moment of maximum audience, April offered a special show to Romanian football.

I had matches experienced at maximum intensity, spectacular goals, controversial decisions of the referees, but as a whole, the show was guaranteed, and the superlliga enters the last hundred meters.

The show also continued in the Romanian Cup, where Hermannstadt won dramatically in front of the Rapid, and CFR Cluj humiliated the lighthouse. Thus, the teams trained by Măldărășanu and Petrescu will play the final scheduled in the middle of May.

So, it's time to open the online voting procedures for “April player” and “April coach”!

The player of April 2025 – nominations

For the trophy “the player of April” Gazeta nominated 5 footballers:

  • Juri cisotti (FCSB). The Italian shines in the red-blue shirt of the champion, and April has been the best so far for the 31-year-old striker. He managed a “double” in the 3-2 victory against CFR Cluj, plus a goal scored in the match with Rapid, contributing decisively to the first victory of the FCSB in Giulești after 11 years. Cisotti became the new idol of the supporters and the player that the superliges regret to miss.
  • Gicu Grozav (Oil). The Romanian proverb “who has no old people to buy” fits great. At 34, the “wolf” striker lives on his second youth at Oil and delights on the field as in his good times. He scored decisive goals with Sepsi and Gloria Buzău and was declared the best player in the match against the Buzoians. Remains the regret of classification in the second half of the standings.
  • Frederic Maciel (Galati steel). The pleasant surprise of the play-out comes from Galați, where the steel has not lost any match in April and, moreover, received no goal! In front of the gate, Maciel made his duty: empty against Slobozia, decisive passes with Poli Iasi and Sepsi, and solid performances in all matches, being designated the best man of Galatians in the match with Unirea and a target for any team during the Mercato period.
  • Louis Munteanu (CFR Cluj). The “wonderful kid” of the “railway” was by far the most important man of Cluj in April, even though he had moments when he did not always go to the foreground. He scored three goals: a “double” on the National Arena against FCSB and a goal with the Lighthouse, in the Romanian Cup. The evolutions of the 22-year-old striker have propelled him in front of the transfer lists of the big clubs, but he still has to work on stability.
  • Ianis Stoica (Hermannstadt). April was perfect for the 22 -year -old striker of the Sibiu. He scored three goals in Superliga, in the matches with Oil, Lighthouse and UTA Arad, and also scored in the Cup match with Reșița. Ianis's good evolutions are about to materialize with a lot of money abroad and, most likely, with a summons to the European Summer Youth Championship.

On the preliminary list were: Ștefan Baiaram (Craiova University), Denis Alibec (Farul), Mohammed Kamara (CFR Cluj) and Răzvan Tănasa (Steel Galați).

The coach of April 2025 – nominations

For the trophy “coach of April” Gazeta nominated 3 technicians:

  • Laszlo Balint (Galati steel). Balint's arrival in Galați radically transformed the steel! The team, drifting and with great problems under the command of Dorinel Munteanu, completely changed his face: five victories in five matches, without a goal, and the first place in the play-out. April was a perfect month for Balint and his, with victories on the line: 1-0 with Poli Iași, 1-0 with FC Botosani, 2-0 with Unirea Slobozia and 3-0 with Sepsi.
  • Elias Charalambous (FCSB). Unbeaty in April, the champions of Romania continue the triumphal march to a new title in Superliga. Charalambous has the great merit of being transformed into FCSB into a real force, but also into a united family, which has not lost 20 matches! In April, FCSB won important victories with U Cluj (1-0), CFR Cluj (3-2) and Rapid (2-1), plus an equal to the University of Craiova (0-0), which keep it in the first position.
  • Marius Măldărășanu (Hermannstadt). Măldărășanu is about to write history in Sibiu and save a season that everyone would forget as soon as possible. He qualified Hermannstadt in the final of the Romanian Cup, after eliminating the Rapid, the team for which he played, and defeated his good friend, Marius Șumudică. In the last act of the competition, CFR Cluj is waiting for him. In Superliga, its balance sheet in April includes a victory with UTA Arad, two draws with Oil and Lighthouse, but also an unexpected defeat with Gloria Buzău.

On the preliminary list were: Dan Petrescu (CFR Cluj), Florin Maxim (Corvinul), Cristi Chivu (Inter Milan) and Bogdan Andone (FC Argeș).
