Great Britain proposed the European Union to sign a wide declaration of common values; It emphasized support for Ukraine, a Parisian climate agreement and free trade – the Reuters agency said on Monday, which reached the preliminary version of this document.


The agency pointed out that although Donald Trump is not mentioned in the draft declaration, many elements of this text are an expression of disagreement with some aspects of the US President's policy.
The initial version of the document, which has already been provided to EU countries, is formulated as a “political preamble” to the new strategic partnership of the United Kingdom with the community. Both sides intend to finalize this partnership at the peak in London on May 19, “Reuters reminded.
“We confirm our lasting support for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within international recognized boundaries,” says the initial version of the British document.
“We have confirmed the existence of common principles regarding the maintenance of global economic stability and common obligations for free and open trade” – it was written and emphasized that the parties to the agreement would cooperate to “limit the impact of (economic) fluctuations on global economic order”.
The document also has that Great Britain and the EU are attached to the principles of multilateralism and the provisions of the Parisian climate agreement.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer already declared in February that he wants to cooperate closer to the European Union to strengthen the defense of the continent, including increasing cooperation in the development of military technology and the production of the arms industry.
