Verification of identity by the cryptographic method in the polling station is the safest and confirms the authenticity of Mdowodod – assured the minister of digitization on Thursday Krzysztof Gawkowski. It is about scanning by the QR code voter, which will be shown to him in the regional electoral commission.
Gawkowski reminded at the Thursday press conference in Warsaw that from 2023 the e-exit service has been available in the mobile. It allows users to check information about the date and type of approaching elections, you can also check the voting place.
The minister of digitization emphasized that The ministry is working on making the voting procedure with M-on a completely safe element of confirmation of identity. “Together with the National Electoral Office, we have developed a solution that will ensure a convenient and safe statement whether the identity of the voter is authentic,” he added.
The director of the Central Information Technology Center Radosław Maćkiewicz explained that it was a cryptographic solution, which – as he said – “It undeniably states the authenticity“.
It consists in scanning by the QR code voter, which will be shown to him in the regional electoral commission. Maćkiewicz announced that members of the election committee would be trained in the scope of verification of the mobile identity.
He added that the solution will be launched on the day of the presidential election. To confirm the identity with a nimble, you will need to update the application to the latest version.
“Verification of identity at the polling station, implemented using the cryptographic method is the safest” – assured Gawkowski.
The head of the Digitization Ministry also announced an information campaign of the Mobiatry application, which is to last from April 28 to May 30, excluding election silence. The goal of the campaign will be to inform about the most important application functions that can be useful during elections.
Gawkowski also drew attention to the popularity of the application. “MOBKI Citizen is the most popular Polish application, with over 9 million users,” said Gawkowski.
He added that the application recorded 60 percent. Users' growth since December 2023, as he said, over 5 million users reserved their PESEL in the application. “These are huge and satisfactory results for us, which confirm that Poles want to use the mobile”- he added.
“We want all of Poland to be free from paper documents in 2035,” said the minister of digitization. According to the “strategy of Poland's digitization”, all key e-services will be found in the MOBKitan application by then. Efficient implementation of subsequent functions and documents is to facilitate the currently processed legislative changes.
The MOBKitan is a full -fledged electronic identity document that is available in the application on the phone. It can be used, among others in offices, banks, courts, clinics or a notary public.
The presidential election will take place on May 18 this year. Any second round will be carried out on June 1. (PAP)
