The joint actions of CBŚP officers from Bialystok, the Mazovian Customs and Tax Office and the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw led to the disclosure of the “Invoice Factory” activity, which over the last decade issued fictitious documents on a gigantic scale. According to investigators, whose findings are described by TVP Info, The gang managed by Zbigniew B. served companies mainly related to the shopping center in Wólka Kosowska, offering a wide range of goods from Asia.
The prosecutor's office found that the companies controlled by the group of Zbigniew B. 43 thousand fictitious invoices for 2446 business entities. The value of these documents amounted to nearly PLN 900 million grosswhich – according to the spokesman of the Warsaw Regional Prosecutor's Office, cited by TVP Info, prosecutor Mateusz Martyniuk – translated into Losses of the Treasury estimated at over PLN 180 million.

The prosecutor's office recently ended one of the threads of the proceedings, directing the indictment against five people. Katarzyna R., Michał L., Przemysław Z.-D., Artur M. and Elżbieta N. were to use fictitious VAT invoices as part of their activities related to construction, transport and electrics.
Within five years, the accused used over 500 such documents with a total value exceeding PLN 9.2 million. According to the findings, their actions have exposed the State Treasury to reduction in an amount exceeding PLN 1.7 million. Prok. TVP Info emphasizes that The investigation into the group of Zbigniew B. is one of the largest of its kind in Poland. Until now, 92 people have heard the allegations, and the secured property under the proceedings reaches almost PLN 85 million.
