

“And we believed that we had such a duty to Ukrainize the Crimea that it was kapets. But there it was necessary not to get out of there and not to be afraid. There were enemies everywhere,” he shared.
The actor added that in the world they “love the strong.”
“We were afraid of any step to take – we looked back at everyone: at the Hungarians, at the Muscovites, Romanians, at the Poles – at all, if only to defend their own,” Benyuk noted.
Context
The aggressor country Russia occupied Crimea after blocking Ukrainian military units and illegal referendum on March 16, 2014. The “accession” of the peninsula to the Russian Federation is not recognized by Ukraine and most other countries.
The Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly stated that they were tuned to the de -Ukrainian territories captured by 2014, including Crimea.
