EU Commissioner for Defense: Lack of Ukraine in NATO will facilitate Russia's planning another aggression

The lack of Ukraine in NATO will facilitate Russia's planning its next wave of aggression – said EU defense commissioner Andrius Kubilius on Sunday. He added that Moscow is afraid that the alliance would defend Ukraine against the assault.

“Russia demands + no NATO + for Ukraine. Not because it is afraid of NATO's offensive against Russia from Ukrainian territory, but because it is afraid that NATO will defend Ukraine against the next Russian aggression,” wrote the Commissioner on the X.

“+ Lack of NATO+ for Ukraine will help Russia plan its next aggression,” added a Lithuanian politician.

According to the Reuters agency, one of the conditions of the US -resolving plan proposed by the US in Ukraine is the renunciation by Ukraine the desire for membership in NATO while maintaining the right to membership in the EU. (PAP)
