Dendrological Park in EAO

April 26, 1926
On this day, Temtsin Yakov Ruvinovich, an honorary citizen of the city of Birobidzhan, was born. In 1934, parents moved to the village of Valdheim EAO. In 1941, at the age of 15, Yakov Ruvinovich Temtsin began his career as a tractor driver on the Ilyich Zvetveta collective farm of the Birobidzhan district of the Jewish Autonomous Region.

In November 1943, the 17-year-old machine operator was drafted for service in the army in the rear. Yakov Ruvinovich served in the infantry. Before the start of the war with Japan, his 519 rifle regiment of the 393 rifle division stood 80 kilometers from the border near the city of Voroshilov (now Ussuriysk). A few days before the opening of the Eastern Front, his regiment was transferred to Lake Hassan. Yakov Ruvinovich freed North Korea. The war for him ended in 1952.
Having quit the reserve, he came to the city of Birobidzhan. I got a job at the metal plant factory, which later became a plant of power transformers. In his work book there are only two records: in 1952 he was hired, and in 1993 he went on a well -deserved rest. Yakov Ruvinovich from a simple worker has grown to the head of the assembly workshop. He was a highly qualified worker. The brigade headed by him, the workshop was the winner of the socialist competition. With his participation, production expanded, Birobidzhan transformers sent consumers throughout the country and abroad.

After retirement Ya.R. Temtsin took an active part in veteran work. He was a member of the City Committee of War Veterans, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Power Transformers. Systematically met with students of schools, professional schools, showed care of the veterans of the plant, and carried out work on the patriotic education of youth. He enjoyed authority and respect among the youth and the older generation of Birobidzhan.

For active work among pensioners and youth JA.r. Temtsin was listed on the Board of Honor “Activists of the City Veteran Organization”.
Ya.R. Temtsin was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the II degree and many anniversary medals.
For conscientious work, skillful leadership, he was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor, the medal “For the Victory over Japan”, the sign “Veteran of Labor”.
By the decision of the City Duma dated 04.28.2005 No. 6 YA.R. Temtsin was awarded the title “Honorary Citizen of the city of Birobidzhan.”
He passed away on 09/16/2011, was buried in the city of Birobidzhan.

The Council of People's Commissars of the SSR Union adopted a decree “On the national economic plan of the Jewish Autonomous Region for 1936”.
It was planned to introduce first of all the sewing factory, two furnaces of the Londok Laser Plant for 20 thousand tons of lime, build a printing house, a twentieth school with 880 seats, start the construction of a brick factory, a power plant, the regional library and other facilities.
April 26, 1960
The Bureau of the Regional Committee of the CPSU considered the results of the fulfillment of socialist obligations adopted by the collectives of industrial enterprises of the region in honor of the 90th anniversary of the birth of V.I. Lenin. The adopted resolution noted that the socialist obligations of four months to produce gross products and the development of capital construction were fulfilled by the region by April 22. 15 teams were awarded the title of brigades, shifts, and the workshops of communist labor, the creative activity of the workers increased, 600 radio records were submitted, 60 units of equipment were modernized, and the number of followers of V. Gaganova’s pattern increased.

By a decree of the administration of the Jewish Autonomous Region, a dendrological park was organized in the Jewish Autonomous Region.

The dendrological park is formed in order to create a dendrological collection, preservation and enrich in artificial conditions of various plant resources for their most effective scientific, cultural and economic use.
The dendrological park is located in the southwestern part of the city of Birobidzhan on the 9th km of the Birofeld highway in the mountainous territory represented by part of the Hingano-Buree mining system.
