Despite the revenue of over UAH 100 billion, Ukrzaliznytsia has completed a year with a loss of 4.2 billion.
The company became the leader in revenue among transportation and mail enterprises in 2024: it received UAH 102.9 billion in income (+11% per year).
But according to the results of the year, the company reported on a loss of UAH 4.2 billion.
Market experts say that the losses at Ukrzaliznytsia generates a passenger direction (about 15 billion last year), as well as excess infrastructure – small stations and tracks, which the company also spends more than ten billion hryvnias every year.
At the same time, this year the UZ will be able to earn more: it has received the right from the Cabinet of Ministers to sell scrap and rubble on its own, and to earn more than UAH 2 billion of additional profit. This will allow you to keep tariffs for cargo and passenger transportation at the current level, and not to spin inflation.
