Co -founder and longtime president of RASP Wiesław Podkański is dead


The current president of the company Aleksander Kutela informed about the death of the honorary president of Ringier Axel Springer Polska in his latest announcement.

“Wiesław Podkański made an invaluable contribution to the development of the media in Poland, thanks to the extraordinary ability to unite people around common values. He constantly defended the freedom of the press and sought to raise the standards of journalism, believing that reliable and independent media are the foundation of democracy. His departure is a great loss for the entire media industry. Cordiality, always ready to help, to talk and share his knowledge.
He added that the date and place of the last farewell to Wiesław Podkański are not yet known.

Wiesław Podkański was the founder and long -term president of Ringier Axel Springer Polska (previously Axel Springer Polska). From 2005 he was the president of the honorary company. Earlier, he was also the editor -in -chief of the Auto International monthly, and the general director and president of the management board of Phoenix Intermedia in Wrocław. Wiesław Podkański was also a co -founder of the Chamber of Press Publishers, whose president he was from 2003 he graduated from German studies and philosophy at the University of Wrocław and obtained a doctorate in humanities.
