A resident of Minusinsk killed the old woman with an ax and was hiding from the investigation of 23 years

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a man will be condemned, who in December 2001 killed an old woman with an ax and accidentally set fire to her house. This was reported in the investigation.

According to law enforcement officers, everything happened on the eve of the New Year in the city of Minusinsk. The attacker in a drunk state came to his 79-year-old neighbor and demanded alcohol from a woman. The pensioner responded to the man with a refusal, after which she received two blows with an ax on the head. From the injuries, the old woman died on the spot. The killer carried out a carpet and food from the house of his victim. Leaving the crime scene, he touched the carpet and knocked on the veranda a bucket with an unsuccessful ash and provoked a fire. Fire was noticed by the locals.

The body of an elderly woman with burns and signs of carbon monoxide was later discovered by rescuers. As a result of the forensic medical examination, it was possible to establish that the death of a pensioner is criminal, the old woman died from an open head injury. A criminal case was opened on this fact, but the search for the criminal dragged on.

Law enforcement officers were able to go out on the trail of the killers only after 23 years. As part of the work on the investigation of crimes of past years, investigators and forensics have repeatedly studied the case file, found and interrogated witnesses. A new significant information was received about the circumstances of the death of a pensioner.

The attacker was detained. Under the weight of the evidence presented by the investigation, the 49-year-old man fully pleaded guilty of a crime and told law enforcement on the circumstances of the murder in detail.

Now the criminal case has been transferred to the prosecutor's office to approve the indictment and subsequent referral to the court.
